Thanks to all who attended and participated in the fun at our Belly Dance & Going Away party for Mary and Tyra. We will surely miss them! Special thanks to all the dancers who performed (Juliet, Salwa, Mary, Tyra, Jenny) and all those that led games and activities. Something I will never forget: Tyra wowed us with her first professional improvisation solo! Also to Sharon for her very nice gift to us and to the Olives Branch for providing the fabulous traditional Lebanese food! As soon as photos from the event are sent to me, I will share them here, so keep in touch! Happy Dancing in 2014, Tina Enheduanna

Well, you may know that we have postponed Momo Kadous Elegance & Excellence workshops to 2014. Though we were looking forward to his arrival very much, the final date will be announced shortly.
Many great events are happening on July 27-28th as follows: Sameda Faire in San Diego, great workshop with Morwenna Assaf Journey Through Egypt in Escondido with Sah'ra, great workshop Fun Sunday Workshops & Super Sunday Showcase in Irvine We wanted to give our workshop participants an opportunity to have a Fun Sunday of dancing and there was much interest in having something local. So please check the flyer under my website's Events and Workshops Pages for more information. Thank you! Tina July 27 - 28th! Several sponsors have organized a wonderful opportunity to learn technique, combinations and choreography from one of the mostly highly respected masters in the industry. Join us Saturday in San Diego, Sunday in Laguna Hills, and at the Sunday night showcase at the Caspian! This will the highlight of our year! Love y'all, Tina
Mystique Dance Company. Pictured: Tina, Sarah, Farrah Talei, Rania, a beautiful newer dancer I just met...and her snake! I will admit that I let a sprained ankle get me down at the beginning of this year. Nothing is more of a bummer for us than not being able to move! However, this injury naturally brought many dance opportunities with it, and though I enjoyed a birthday not long ago, I feel like 20 years younger with all the extra excercise, feeling more beautiful more often, and getting out to dance with friends! New opportunities have sprung up in the Persian and Arab communities and meanwhile, we are exploring the nuances and depths of Taqsim and improv in dance classes and building a progressive project in drum classes. I couldn't be happier seeing you students grow! Not to mention all the wonderful opportunities to study with some of the great artists of our dance form...Monthly workshops with Sah'ra, May workshops with Ahmed and July workshops with Momo Kadous right here in Laguna Hills....Thank you everyone involved, family friends, students and George, who make every day a better day. Love you all. Hey Girls! If you were thinking of joining our dance class, now is the time to not delay! San Clemente Community Center has just informed me of the new minimum enrollment policy...if we don't have 5 people pre-enrolled, class will be cancelled! Don't let your class be cancelled this season! Classes have been cancelling all over the county...every one of my colleagues has expressed disappointment in enrollment during these past years, and we die-hards keep on dancing as much as we can...but community centers and studios now under the pressure of juggling space and revenues, need to crack down. For your sake and your classmates, don't delay your registration this season. Thanks to the very special people who made my birthday super fun! Friends, students, and significants threw a fab birthday bash which was a total shocking surprise, complete with dancing ladies and live music! Here are some pics from Linda Windler, who was able to get some fun shots when she wasn't busy playing tabla! It was so crazy special to me that George played for the dancers, and that the Persian style dancers performed! It has brightened all the weeks following :)) Here is a little pictorial journal of this incredible year! Dreams came true! Aspiring dancers and pros....recommended reading for an education, or for a chuckle... If I had read Artemis' article in 1993 when she first published it, I would have saved myself a lot of time and frustration! Absolutely nothing has changed in all this time...
